This event, now in its second year, is our way of shining light on outstanding individuals in our community, gathering our circles of amazing humans together, and letting our young men share their energy as well. The 2024 honorees are:
Maino, platinum-charting Brooklyn rapper and radio personality – Resilient Visionary Award (award presented by acclaimed radio host Angela Yee)
Dr. Christopher Emdin, author and professor of science education at Teachers College, Columbia University – Henry Pete Pearson Award
Aaron Barnette, deputy executive director of the NYC Office of Safety and Prevention Partnerships – Equity Builders Award
Brendon Mims, community superintendent for NYC Community School District 16 – Educational Advocate Award
Dr. Jay Barnett (via video) author and mental health expert – I Hear You Bro Award
Jacobi Holland, co-founder of cannabis education company On The Revel – Boundary Breaker Award
