Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic and empathetic Music Therapy Session Facilitator for our "Behind the Bars" program. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for running impactful group therapy sessions, utilizing music as a therapeutic tool to foster critical consciousness and psychological growth among participants. The facilitator will engage individuals through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles, ensuring an inclusive and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate Group Sessions: Lead engaging music therapy sessions for diverse groups, adapting methods to suit individual needs while fostering a collective healing environment.
Critical Consciousness Promotion: Encourage participants to explore and express their thoughts and emotions, promoting self-awareness and social consciousness through music.
Apply CBT Techniques: Implement Cognitive Behavioral Therapy principles to help participants recognize patterns and change negative thought processes using musical activities.
Engagement and Participation: Ensure high levels of participant involvement by using innovative and inclusive methods to make sessions interactive and motivational.
Session Planning: Design structured session plans that align with therapeutic goals, incorporating various musical styles and activities to achieve desired outcomes.
Progress Monitoring: Track participant progress, providing feedback and adjusting session strategies to meet the evolving needs of the group.
Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with colleagues and other professionals to maintain a cohesive therapeutic environment and enhance session effectiveness.

Qualifications:

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
